I swapped out the original side mounts that came with the reefbreeders to their BOT mounts. I like these much better.
This is SO much better, great decision. When I saw that first lighting picture I was actually debating whether or not to mention changing it haha.

This isn't your first tank, is it? Everything so far gets a chef's kiss so far from me. Off to a great start!

Looking good. How do you like the light so far?
So far so good but I don’t have anything in the tank yet. My corals in QT will be giin soon if I can get past a little bryopsis issue. I’ll be able to evaluate better after that.

Yeah, the original mounts had to go!

This is my first saltwater tank. Trying to go slow and steady. The tank is looking great so far. I don’t have anything to compare it too (own experience) but I do believe going with some live rock helped. There is a little dry rock as well.

Current tank shot just to document. Only inhabitants are about 10 snails of a few varieties, a couple hermit crabs and a pom pom crab. Oh and amphipods, copepods, brisstle worms, spaghetti worms, spirobid worms and vermetid snails (that Im trying to stay on top of). Just over 2 months since it got wet.

2 months in. Is this purple what I think it is? I saw a few spots a few weeks ago. I took this picture tonight and was a little surprised. It seems to be starting to take over the green.

Moved my first frags into the DT. I really need to get better at gluing frags down.

Just a quick picture update. Im almost stocked on fish now. 3 pajama cardinals, 2 davinci clowns and a yellow watchman goby. Everyone is doing good I believe.
Im working to get my parameters stable. My main struggle at this time is low nitrates (at least as the test reads) and a little high phosphate.

Haven’t posted in a while. Fish are doing well (2 davinci clowns, watchman goby and the three pajama cardinalfish). These are my latest corals to go into the display. They spend 40ish days in qt. Interesting to me, that aussie gold sps was almost all blue (purplish) while in qt. Since its been in the display, it seems to be coloring up nicely. I have a decent light on the 10g qt, but I guess it likes its new home better.

I have not been updating my build thread very often. Honestly I have been taking it fairly slow in this first year. My one year anniversary is coming up soon so I will try to post some update pics then.
I am almost finished with a new sump build. I’m hoping to get it swapped out with the old one soon. This will give me more side to side room in the stand and easier access to my controller section.

Nothing too exciting. I got the new sump installed today. Wasn’t a lot of fun but nothing too terrible either.

Adding a few shots of the tank as well. I’m still taking it slow. I have 13 corals in qt that will be going to the DT in about a month. That will help start to fill the DT out a bit.

Going to try chaeto in the sump. I had a light from an AIO that I wasn’t using so I’m going to see how thag works. It was a little long for tge refugium section so I created some blocks to 3d print and also printed a shade to keep light in.

I haven’t updated my tank build very much over the past year. I had a rough patch the beginning of the year but i’ve been slowly trying to get things going in the right direction again.

My wife requested a cabinet to sit between the wall and stand to house all of our miscellaneous stuff scattered around the fish tank.

I came up with this cabinet. It has hidden casters so I can roll it out and around the room. I have a good workspace this way as well for testing, etc.
I still have to put a finish on the top but otherwise done, and very functional.
