40g cube equipment recommendations?

i just bought a used redsea 170;
here’s the list i have now:
2x ai prime lights
1x ai nero 5 wavemaker (have a wavemaker already)
hygger 100W heater
i’m looking for skimmer recommendations as well, it’ll be my first time having a sump, any help or advice is welcome
i’m looking to keep the price relatively low but if it’s worth it i don’t mind spending more. thanks guys

Congrats on your new tank!

Reef octopus skimmers are excellent. Their space-saver model might be good for what I assume will be a relatively tight sump. Did you select a return pump? If not, highly recommend reefbreeders nautilus, great functionality for the price and runs silent. Links below if interested, I also use a nautilus pump in my tank thread if you want to see it in action. Thread also includes the simple sump build, might also be helpful for ideas.

I would think about adding UV on the system if I were setting up a tank of that size. I can say it will help slow down algae, but as a caveat, it can be a hassle to maintain if you want low maintenance.

Yes, I have also heard sicce makes great pumps.

they do make a great pump - very reliable.

I would suggest for that tank the SICCE 2.0 - its around 568 GPH and could really drive a single 1/2in RFG Nozzle for the outlet. At 450to 550 GPH you may even allow you to get away without an additional wave maker, and save some cash for more coral and fish :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
