I decided to start a thread for my mantis tank build. Starting with a 40g aqueon. Built the stand frame and painted the back and one side black.

Will be skinning and painting the stand this weekend.

(Sorry about the pics, think I got it figured out now. Won't let me delete the attached ones.)

Thanks! The other attachment is a double too. I wasn't sure the best way to post them.

Thank you! Rock still hasn't shipped yet. Need to make the cave and put down some starboard in the bottom. Rockwork then water.

Following. Do you already have the mantis? Where are you sourcing it if not?

No. Local shop gets them fairly frequently. One of the guys there is an enthusiast.

HDPE plastic board cut and fit in the bottom to prevent an over enthusiastic digger.... Maybe overkill but a little piece of mind. [IMG]

Finally got the cave and rock the way I like. Had to get twice as much sand! Little cloudy but running. [IMG]

That's the 110... Biggest one. It'll give 10x turnover and a huge basket to add filter media, carbon, whatever.

You going to put anything else in there? Or is this mantis shrimp only?
