I currently have the following fish in my 30 gallon.

Clown fish
Long nose hawk fish
Black cap basslet
Tail spot Blennie

But am looking to purchase the 40 gallon long or the 50 gallon lagoon.

And would like to at least add a blue green chromis and a cardinal fish for more active swimmers. Is this overstocked now?
I’m also not 100 opposed to innovative marines 60 gallon long.

It all depends on your bio load…

I have a 30g long and currently have it stocked with the below:
Pair of clowns
Pink streaked wrasse
Royal Gramma
Diamond Goby
2 chromis

i think the additional chromis and cardinal would be great additions to your reef. If you have the budget, space etc., the bigger tank IM 60 would get my vote!

I think I’ll go with the 40 gallon and hopefully upgrade within a year or so. I noticed once I got to the 60 gallon I started looking at the 80 and above and would probably like to do a sump instead. But I should probably have an rodi system set up etc.

I totally get it. I have the IM 30 long (aio), and love it, but I’m also quite limited on space and livestock.

Not looking to upgrade on my end anytime soon, but my next build will definitely be a fully plumbed tank with a sump and all the extra room for equipment.

For now, I’ll enjoy the minimal volume water changes 👌🏽
