After 3 previous unsuccessful attempts at adding an anemone to my 1.5 year old 40b ( after having 4 in my 29g JBJ ) where anything that could go wrong did go wrong, @LiveAquaria customer service had their Coral farm ops manager hand pick one for me.

Believe it or not - UPS MISORTED THE PACKAGE - and the anemone, instead of arriving overnight from 400 miles away, ended up spending an extra day in a warehouse.

When she arrived the, I was pretty scared I was going to open up the box to a cloudy bag.

Water was pretty clear and the animal was packaged VERY NICELY. I know some people complain about the $10 box charge (who wants to pay more?) but this is DEFINITELY packaging worth $10. These supplies aren't free.

The anemone looked a little rough, I mean, why wouldn't it after spending an extra day in a warehouse. Mouth was pretty puffy but not open and of course had shrunk.

I acclimated for two hours with the drip method per the instructions from @LiveAquaria and the old Karen's Anemones website which I dug up with the internet time machine. I know some people throw them in after a float but I think Karen had some of the best info out there and she says to drip acclimate.

Here is the anemone after two hours in the bucket and in hour in my tank.

And this morning! My tomato female actually started being hosted last night after lights went out and here she is this morning! Super happy after all the things that didn't go right, things are now perfect!

Awesome pictures. Best of luck with your new nem :)
I was super bummed when UPS misorted the package, I thought I was going to have a dead anemone but having the clown go in the same night the nem went in was awesome!

Shipping these days is very unreliable. You're really throwing the dice

Unfortunately, even being 40 mins from Chicago I've found it very difficult to find a LFS that not only has a large selection but good prices.
