This is the best photo I could get of his injured side for now - Will get a better one in the morning.

I got a better photo of him, he doesn’t appear weak and quite happily swims the whole length of the tank. So maybe it isn’t too bad and he can heal. I know my Angel came back from this sort of predicament, I just don’t remember how.

Any idea how he got injured?
Not a clue, the only ways I can think of are if he was pushed into the coral frags in my nano and with them being SPS they may have harmed him or the blenny may have gone at him a couple times when asleep

It does look like a bit of both. Now that he's away from his bully and has more room he should heal up fine :)

How's the flasher? Seen him flash yet?

The fin looks a lot like a blenny bite. I had to remove my hairy blennies from the 180, just for this. While they are bit larger and more agressive, my tailspot leaves chucnks exactly like that on the clowns from time to time lol. His hole is above the LTAs and he sometimes gets tired of them scraping his rock when they go to lay eggs lol.

He definitely has room to swim and happily get around the tank.
The blenny also has ignored him so far so I assume they’re both happy and can’t stress out as much.

This guy is already looking much better!
Healing up nicely, and the white marks on his side are hard to see unless you know they’re there.

Another thing is he was mainly gliding along the back lower half of the tank when he first went in but now he’s all over it. Happily gliding along with the two Lubbockis and the Flasher.

Unfortunately there’s still no signs of the Melanomarginatus so, I have a feeling we’ve lost him unfortunately.

Glad to hear the naoko is doing better, such a gorgeous fish

Sorry about that Melanomarginatus
It’s alright, and yeah the naokoae was my first holy grail Fairy Wrasse so I’m very happy that he’s not overly injured.
As for the Melanomarginatus, I don’t know why he might have vanished however, as it’s been I believe over a week now without spotting him which is odd for this specimen as he often comes out after a day of missing. He also usually comes out to feed which is another thing he hasn’t done.

On another good note, finally got a good photo of the Cryptocentrus cinctus! This guy has settled nicely - I haven’t heard the pistol in a while but that’s supposedly normal if they feel secure.
I’m in love with the blue speckling all over this guy and it’s one reason I love the Cryptocentrus genus as many of them share a similar speckling (Some are pink, some are blue and some are even white).

Glad to see that your Naoko is healing up. When are you going to move your blue star over to the 4' tank?

Oh and I'm still waiting for a flasher pic lol

I won’t lie, I keep forgetting to get that haha. Here’s the photo I got earlier though.
Not a great photo - I can potentially get better as he comes right up towards the front of the tank and then darts back when the phone is there.

He’s showing more signs of being a hybrid - The fin looks too red/purple for a purebred Filamentosus and when he flashes his dorsal fin is a stunning blue (Similar to that seen in Lineopunctatus).

Im still trying to get a photo of him in full display however it’s so rare unlike with the Lubbock’s doing it every night around the same time.

You know what the solution to this is? You need another flasher wrasse! ;)

I’d love one, specifically a Cyaneus but it’s the room. Maybe in the future once I get a bit more room.

Orrr… I did lose a melanomarginatus a while ago. We’ll see as my stocking is sat at 12 fish (I’m most likely missing one).

If you don’t know, here’s my new nano :)
3’x16”x13” and just means more wrasses.

Thought I’d update it with this as I haven’t really had a ton of time for updating this thread with the 4’ tank due to the nano taking up a whole weekend to setup.

Loving the developments atm!!
Thankyou! It’s been a bit hectic but for now I’m just waiting for the right coral pieces :)
I’ll try get an FTS out today as well as an update on growth with the coral.
