Hi,

My name is JD and i'm gonna buy a Red Sea Reefer 170 (24x20x20) or 250 in february when they come out.
On the Reefer 170 there's no problem to use a AI Hydra 52, but what about the Reefer 250 (35x20x21).
Would 1 A Hydra 52 be sufficient for the Reefer 250? I read it covers 36x36.

Rgds,

Jd

Hi Jaydee,

I think 1 Hydra 52 would be enough for either tank. You may have to raise the unit a bit higher on the larger tank to cover the footprint of the tank but I do think 1 should be fine. As most users on here would say, it's kind of circumstantial. What do you intend on raising in the tank? If it's going to be a dominant SPS tank than you might want to think of supplementing with some T5's also.

Rgds,

Thx for the reply Akida, thats what i had in mind. See how the tank evolves and the buy an extra if necessary.
