I'm thinking of pulling the UV sterilizer off and putting my reactor on for the cuprisorb bag... I hesitate to do anything since things are somewhat stabilized.

Things seem to be stable at this point. The bubble algae is receding, but the spirolina is not. The frags I moved to the hospital tank don't seem to be improving anymore. I'm going to try a round of Furan-2 to see if it makes a difference in the hospital tank. In the meanwhile, I just ordered a new screen top for my tank so I can start getting some fish in here.

Yeah. Low potassium and high tin.

I’ll be interested to see your results too. We’ve been having similar issues.

I had high hopes for the hospital tank too but this continues my belief that what is affecting my zoas has nothing to do with water chemistry. I am running Furan 2 as we speak, maybe it is an infection.

Kinda scratching my head on possible linking causality in both of tanks now.

Lid is getting a little rework done. Lucky for me he's as much of a perfectionist as I am. It's gonna look amazing!

I did start dosing Vibrant in my DT yesterday morning. I've started planning a new build and tearing this one down. I figure I might as well give this one last shot at a miracle before I do. People seem to have lots of luck with it, let's hope it works for me too!

Tank doesn’t look any better really. The hair algae is gone but the bubble algae is there and so is cyano. One suggestion was to clean off my rocks really well so I took an MJ1200 and went to town. The results are pretty apparent...

Yuck!

That was on 1/2/18. I’m gonna give the Vibrant more time and see if it helps now.

Today I gave my sump it’s first deep clean in 2.5 years. It wasn’t as bad as I thought but it was needed. I cleared out the contents of each chamber one at a time. I put a Tunze powerhead at one end and used an MJ1200 to pump the hunk into a filter sock. Here’s a before and after of the center chamber:

I should have taken a before picture of the whole thing but I forgot. Here it is after cleaning. Everything came out and got cleaned.

Trying to kick this bubble algae problem in the butt. I threw a Koralia K4 in there and I’m moving it around every 15 minutes to really try to get a deep clean. I used a MJ1200 a week ago to do this too. I clearly didn’t get everything. :eek:

Quick update on my new fish friends. They're all still alive and kicking, so that's great! :)

I dosed one round of prazi on 1/19. Did a 25% water change on 1/24 and dosed a second round. Next up is another 25% water change and running carbon for 24 hours starting on 1/29. Then it's copper time :eek::eek:
