Got another great hookup from another R2R member. Thanks @Chris2351 for the Eshopps S-120.
It is now my first ever skimmer on any reef tank in all my years. Hope to pull the 'stuff ' out now.

watching the tank this morning over coffee, saw some of the tiny white dots on the front glass up near the top of the tank. So I grabbed the pipette and sucked one up. Broke out my kids AmScope Microscope and snagged a picture of the copepod. Wanted to make sure it wasnt something else. I am so pleased, let them breed for a few months and the get my Mandarin again! Cannot wait:

Thanks for shot out. That skimmer will pull out some nasty stuff when you get your bioload up. Good
Luck.

Holy pods Batman.. front glass shot. DKH is 7, nitrate is bright pink, so between the 20 and 50 shades on my red sea card and the ph is 8.2. Need to have patience to allow everything to balance out, but I will WC again before heading to RAP.

Just swapped out 26g for a WC Friday.
Hope the NO3, is low for RAP goodies if the tank is ready!
Nitrate between 10-20 on the RedSea chart ... vinegar dosing soon™️

Finally got an hour and am starting my Reef_pi build:
The Zero needed a header soldered to it, so broke out the iron and melted some solder. After that, the box I am using has standoffs on one side edge of the box that perfectly fit my Zero. I added 2 nylon standoffs to support the other side of the zero.
IMG_1800.jpg

I am using a
uxcell 7.9 inches x 4.7 inches x 2.9 inches
from Amazon.
Here it is mounted in the box, used 2 4mm socket heads from my tool bench.
IMG_1801.jpg

Popped the @Michael Lane 'Goby' edition board on top and now, I need to run off to be a dad for a few hours. Hope to start configuring the Reef-Pi later tonight.
IMG_1802.jpg

I also will be adding the boards to the SB Reef light basic, to be able to control with the Reef-Pi. Should be a great first project.

I was able to put in another bit last night after the kiddos went to bed. #reefpi
9E25E747-05B5-4BBD-BD0D-FCABE4597676.jpeg

with the board I am using, the ground is to the left when thelocator pins on the connector are towards you. Instead of cutting and crimping new o es, I decided to press the catch on the connector and pull them out and moved around to correct placement, to me, on the board.
C3CBE30A-BF64-4F6D-827B-74D727475FA9.jpeg

after that, I needed to connect the 5v from the hat to the pi zero below.
@Michael Lane s boards are both amazingly clean, and he includes proper wires upon request. Helping to minimize crumping and keeping the hat overall cleaner looking.
Here is my complete connector for the lights and connected to the hat.

Hope to figure out what type of 12v I should run to the hat, and add that in tonight.

Keep up the good work. I start my 65 gallon reef build in a week or 2. My tank is in transit to me. Wife is getting aggravated as equipment and such is getting delivered just about everyday.

Just got home and looked at the tank, here is my pod bloom. I am infested
ED6C4C90-6368-459F-8D60-FEFBA66691F7.jpeg

I wish I could see how well they are in the rockwork.
The chaeto I got really helped my pod supply take off and I am grateful for that.
I have 30g waiting in a brute ready for the water change tonight.
hoping to get the light down and wire in my ReefPi tonight as well, but we will see what the family wants to do first.
Is there a way to collect pods from the WC?
Thinking I can start culturing in glass vessels to really help my mandarin I would like to get some day

Power supply for the ReefPi will be here tomorrow.
So tonight, I changed out 28-30 gallons of fresh water(1.025, it’s salty). Gotta bring the nitrAtes down from 10-20 to 1/4 of that.
Who would think that adding 2 more fishies would have upped it
But, as dads know, when momma and babies what 2 clowns at reefapalooza, you have 2 new clowns..... and a red starfish

So, I have not updated in a while:
Here are pictures of the new adds:
IMG_1788.jpg
IMG_1817.jpg

IMG_1815.jpg

PH 8.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2
DKH 9

I am looking for the name that the left photo above is (not the Duncan)

Added a Tiger Conch and about 10 more hermits and 1 emerald crab.

The ReefPi is still an ongoing start, time and questions are slowing me down.

Thanks for looking

PH 8.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
DKH 8.5
now with red sea po4 = 0.04

I started a small batch of Phyto. 60ML of Phyto and 60ml of tank water.
The air is bubbling in the container with 4-5 bubbles per second
I used a Voss glass water container, 500ml, drilled the cap with two holes, one for a 3/16 rigid air tube to about 1/2"from the bottom of the glass. The other hole has a tube that comes out the top and bent it to face down like a candy cane.
I have some Guillards f/2, I only dosed the small amount, .1ml of fertilizer.
We will see with the coming days if this is a viabile way to increase my stores.
I am about to update the ReefPi to 3.0 beta. I will update as that moves along.

Here is just a photo of my Lawnmower Blenny

My chaeto dropped my nitrates to 0.
Going to get a ten gallon tank and grow out a safe copepod fuge next to the DT, or basement.
I do not want to toss it out and lose the pods!
Here it is October 8th:

I just removed 1/2 of the Chaeto in the sump, about a football sized chunk, and removed it for nutrient export.
Really impressed how well it grew out.
I will get water parameters later, once the floaters die.

I purchased a Ctenochaetus truncatus from Gingerbread Tripical fish store on Sunday.
Gorgeous little guy. Very timid, but I saw him when I was in my recliner about 20 minutes after no action near the tank, pecking away.
When I go close, he hides. I will grab a photo once he is more settled.
He enjoys swimming near the blenny, like they are a team.
Tests today:
Ph 8.2
Alk 7.5
Nitrate 0
PO4 .12
I just ordered some ME corals nitrate NO3.
I want to run enough to have 2-5 on my test kit. Reading that with high phosphates and no nitrate detectable is not a good thing.

Noooo.
I had a jumper that wanted to test if they could survive on a wood floor.
RIP little buddy. I hope your reef in the sky can sustain you poor habit: (the larger one)

Lights came on so I wanted a few shots to show some are really progressing.
