I purchased a used 57 gallon rimless tank on craigslist and desided to post a build thread to monitor my progress. The buy came with the tank, stand, 300 eshoppes sump, all plumbing and maxspect 36" r420r led light, reef dynamics ins80 protein skimmer

Its has a hidden door, the whole front peice slides out. The reason for the hidden door is we have a baby soon to be walking and getting into everything. And the eshopps sump is 30 inchs it gives alot more room to work down there. I dont have any plans on stocking just yet. Here is some shots of the corners.

I also bought garden rod hangers and modified them with a little welding. They are going to be bolted to the back of the finished stand once done. There is a photo of what they look like finished on the other stand.

I will post more photos of the hidden doors, its actually one big front door. But I haven't finished it. Its going to have two rectangle wanscotings as the fake doors on this panel with handles.

Photos of front and wanscoting below

No wonder they won't respond to my attempts to buy this tank! You got it and the add is still up lol.

Nice carpentry work!

Great work on the stand! I think you will be very happy with the tank, I love mine. The oceanic tanks are built extremely well.

Well the front door is finished and assembly complete, cherry mahogany staining up next. I also put 1/16 inch cork board to help with any uneven pressure points.

LOL. I wouldn't have time too I work full time and atttend college at night but I'm glad you like it. I've just been on staycation this last week and was able to do it. It took 2-4 hours for 7 days to build this and ALOT of trips to lowes. I do how ever recommend you give it a try your self its not as hard as it looks all you need is a good miter saw and pick out some fancy trim you like. Total cost was around 250 300$ in parts. This is actually my first time cuting crown molding and trim. I just really took my time and was very picky with the angles and how they fit and measuring. Try it man.
