My first rollermat roll last for 4+ months. This was trough cycling, cleaning the tank, and a couple fish towards the end. The second roll is about a month old. Maybe 30% used. The material that they sell at BRS is much thinner though. It looks like you can only get the thicker roll material if you order from Europe.

Second roller mat seems to be working great. $32 a roll is a bit more than I like but not ever replacing filter socks is worth the cost.
