6055 magnet mount issue

@rvitko I have a pair of 6055's that I love. I have had these for more than a few years.
I clean them in a weak bleach solution occasionally ( algae issue in that tank), and yesterday after soaking them for 24 hours I noticed the rubber ring around the inside magnet has gotten very sticky. I was able to remove the rubber ring.
The magnet mount still seems functional. So I'm guessing the rubber ring is just for aesthetics?

The ring protects the glass and helps to grab the glass as otherwise you have 2 smooth surfaces that can slip. they are replaceable, bleach has a very high pH and likely is causing the damage. https://tunze.com/usa/2-magnetic-suction-rings/6020.507
