Improved wet Side for Jecod DMP pump (magnet corrosion fixed?)

Hello fellow reefer,
About a year and a half ago, I purchased two Jecod DMP-30 pumps from BreezeAqua on Aliexpress. Up until recently, both pumps had been running flawlessly.
They provided excellent flow, were reliable, and overall I was very happy with the purchase.

A few weeks ago during cleaning, I noticed issues with both wet sides. After taking them apart, I found that the magnets had corroded internally and expanded slightly. The expansion placed some stress on the plastic housing, which resulted in cracking of the wet-side casing.

What I still can't say for certain is what came first. Did moisture somehow get into the magnet assembly and cause the corrosion, which then expanded and cracked the housing? Or did the housing develop a crack first, allowing water to reach the magnet? The cracks appeared along the visible molding/fusion line on the original design, so it's difficult to know exactly where the failure originated. Either way, the two issues seem closely related.

I contacted BreezeAqua and shared photos along with my observations. I suggested that there might be room for improvement in both the magnet enclosure and the housing itself, especially around the molding/fusion line that appeared to be a potential weak point.

To their credit, they were very responsive and told me they would pass the information along to the manufacturer/factory. I honestly didn't expect much to come from it, but a short while later (few Weeks) they informed me that some changes had been made and sent me the updated version of the wet side.

When the new unit arrived, some differences were noticeable.
The first thing I noticed was that the magnet appears to be better protected and encapsulated than before. Obviously only time will tell how it holds up long term, but it definitely looks like attention was given to this area.

The second thing that stood out was the housing itself. The visible molding/fusion line that was present on the original version is no longer apparent on the revised one. The finish looks cleaner (Stronger) and more uniform overall, and the housing feels slightly more refined than the previous version.

One small downside I noticed is that the rubber suction-cup piece used to attach the wet side to the glass appears to be slightly thinner than on the original version.

I've now been running the new wet side continuously for about 48 hours. That's obviously nowhere near enough time to evaluate long-term durability, but so far it has been operating perfectly—quiet, smooth, and with no issues whatsoever.

I thought this was worth sharing because a lot of us are always looking for affordable alternatives in the hobby (that won't leach heavy metal in the tank).

Overall, my original pumps gave me roughly 18 months of trouble-free operation, and based on the improvements I've seen in this revised wet side, I'm optimistic about the long term durability of this product.
If you need to replace your wet side, il would suggest to ask for the newer version.

I purchased the units and wetside from BreezeAqua store on aliexpress.

Note: When I first purchased my original dmp-30, I was unsure how to properly open the wet side for inspection and maintenance (it is a little more tricky compared to the vortech). Now, I have learned how to easily disassemble the unit and I now inspect and clean the wet side regularly as part of my regular maintenance routine.
On a positive note, when the unit initially failed, I found a significant amount of rust and magnet debris inside the wet side assembly. I subsequently performed an ICP test and, somewhat surprisingly, none of the measured parameters were outside the normal range.
Going forward, I will no longer soak the wet-side magnet assembly in vinegar or citric acid, just in case it may accelerate deterioration of the magnet coating and internal components.

I took it out to clean, it had not been cleaned once since introduction, and broke the shaft.
The magnet looked good. I ordered 2 wetsides for backup but have not tried them yet. I just swapped out a wetside since I purchased 2 new. Wetsides were like $25 each.
Happy with the performace in my 35 nem system.
Its in the upper left corner and covered by a Tunze grate.

The DMPs are impressive. I run two DMP 30s—one on each end of my 6-foot tank—and two MP10s on the back panel behind the rock structure. Together, they provide more than enough flow throughout the aquarium, with excellent circulation even in areas that are typically difficult to reach.

I noticed a slight crack in mine when it was new, like your first picture. I super glued it just in case. I havent checked mine recently but I should take a peak. As someone else mentioned already even vortecs can have issues and I personally a MP-10 completely swell and come apart, so I dont think who you buy from that there's a possibility of having a issues with these. Its just something to routinely check on.
Right now I'm running DMP 10,40, and a 65 and one MP-40 with a DMP wetside
