60g breeder SPS reef

so sorry about all the BS that 's going on in the world and loosing your job. sucks big time.
I am about to loose my job i have been at for 18 years. not due the the same things but still I fill you man.

this tank is a prime example to KISS style reefing. just love what you did here.

Both of you knock it off and leave each other alone. We are handling it behind the scenes and you will both be contacted.

Thank you

hammer garden used to be 3x the size, all grown out from single head frags :( I bought a hammer from a bad local store, and I knew it was risky....got BJD which ended up wiping out a ton of heads. It's bouncing back though! Finally getting some good extension again.

Here it was back when I still had my 25 lagoon up:

Tank looks amazing by the way

Tank is still humming along, and I’ve set up my old 25g lagoon tank as a shroom lagoon. Lots of interviews lately so if I land a new job, I’ll definitely be going a little wild at the local coral expo at the end of the month :drooling-face:

Here is my pup chillin on the recliner while we read in front of the tank this morning

Few changes - I now run 4 primes on this tank, and I changed the T5 combo to 3 blue plus and 1 coral plus.

I moved most of my LPS to my 25g frag tank and have cranked up the flow in this tank.

Everything is doing pretty good! Here is the tank just as it wakes up:

For pumps I swapped my Nero 3s to my frag tank and now run 2 Tunze 6040s with controllers. We shall see how it goes! The Nero’s needed a lot of cleaning and it is a pain to get them out of this tank.

This tank is doing very well. Super stable at this moment, good PE across the board.

Wife and I discussed upgrading this tank to a 125 - she said yes!

The beauty of a 125 is I can finally try a Biota yellow tang, and I won’t need to upgrade any of my existing equipment!

Plan is to tackle that sometime in fall when our jobs are much quieter.

In the meantime….coming soon:

if it comes in really small I might actually start it off in the 25g lagoon frag tank. I’ve seen them as small as 1” at the store, and worried about how well one that size will fare in my 60b.

Did a little work on the electrical side based on some some advice from @BeanAnimal and his website full of articles.

Before was a mess due to swapping out equipment:

Few comments:

1. Man it’s annoying when power blocks are at the end of the cable….blocking an outlet.

2. I actually run more than the allotted outlets. Anyone have a suggestion for a larger power centre with individual rocker switches, circuit breaker, individually wired outlets and metal casing?

3. Think I’m going to mount this either inside (remove drawer) or on the side, to avoid splashing.

4. Next up is swapping the outlet for GFCI and adding a probe based on Beans article. Won’t be able to snake them but I will add a power off alarm to try to avoid a catastrophic trip.
