7+ Month Setup - No CUC

Long story short, my tank has been up for 7+ months with no CUC because I don’t have lights yet. They’re on order and pending delivery. I have been letting more light into my living room which has resulted in a dusting of algae over the rocks.

My original plan was to wait to order my CUC when I had my lights and started seeing diatoms on the sand. Should I stick with that? I don’t want to order a CUC and have them starve once this is all gone.

That's one heck of a cycle. Not a big deal, but I really think it's time for lights. Let a little more natural light in you have to cycle through that diatom stage anyway.
