I love the idea of making your own food. I’ve wanted to do that but haven’t taken the time yet to find a good mix. It looks like you have shrimp, scallops, and tilapia? Do you chop everything up or just throw it in a food processor? Once in the bags do you freeze it again? When feeding do you strain it at all or just scoop some out and toss it in? Do you spot feed your corals?

sorry for the 20 questions, I hope you don’t mind sharing.
Yeppers shrimps scallops and tilapia, I just cut it in 1 inch pieces, but the blender hated that so next time I will chop it up a lot smaller. Once the chunky paste is done its off to the freezer.

For feeding I have a defroster thing that hangs in my tank so I'll just break off a piece and put it in there. There's a lot less water in this than your typical blister pack so less extra garbage also.

As far as feeding corals I don't really spot feed but, I will here in the near future.

Hope that helps and dont worry I love helping out especially being able to pass on a sweet DIY

(Thank you btw, added the main ingredients to my post)

Just wanted to share my experience with these three brands of rocks.
Here we have caribsea tonga branch, real reef tonga branch, and tropic eden premium tonga branch. I went with the tropic eden as to me it gives a more life like appearance

Thanks for the reply, one more questions with the blister packs of frozen food, did you throw those in still frozen or did you thaw, drain, and then add?
I threw them in frozen as I don't thaw them normally. Next time I will thaw them in a net in water and let them drain then add.

Busy busy day. Got some corals in thanks to jamrock corals! They look great, excellent size and color. The Scripts Green was so massive it had a few branches break, but that just means I got another frag of it to share later.

Overall very happy with their shipping, double bagged, with plastic cups, labled, then bagged again and packed up nicely in the box.

Polyp extension not 5 minutes after being added.

Drilled a few holes in the new aquascape so frag plugs would easily sit in there. This allows me to test place some frags before making their move permanent.

Also placed the aquascape in on the left. The sand will all be shifted to the right and travertine tiles will be added to the left. I want to put encrusting corals on the travertine and sticks on the scape. The right will be cyphastreas and LPS. Let me know what you think.

Moved the middle structure forward and turned the left structure some I like this a little more and it opens up the spots I drilled for better placement. Before and after

Put a co2 scrubber on the skimmer and I am liking my ph not dipping below 8.0 AC on and house sealed up tight.
I added it on the 15th ph was 7.7 and just went up and stayed up since.

Added my DOS and the VOSS bottle holder so I can dose vinegar @ 15ml/100gal over 24 hours. Doing an experiment with vinegar and cyano. However my nutrients are low and not really aligned. Nitrates at ~4 ppm to undetectable and Phosphate at .2 waiting on my reactors to come in from GEO so I can start GFO to bring the phosphate down to .04 ish.

My actuall VOSS bottles the glass ones are on the way from overseas in a shipping container so this plastic monster water at 750ml will have to hold out until I get them.

So I purchased a few frag racks from a member here @absoluteNANOreef and just wanted to leave him some feedback.

He's just a hobbyist like the rest of us, but his level of professionalism and customer support is that of the utmost.

The frag racks are super sweet, cleanly done, well made and the magnets are super strong. I'd definitely purchase from him again.

I like these racks because you can put square frag discs or regular plugs in it.
I purchased 2 of the smaller square ones.

Here they are with some standard plugs in them.

They are in my 10g temp tank until the fiji cube tank shows up.
