Recently got a 50 gal AIO Innovative Marine fusion pro 2. I like it but its kind of small for my space. I fell in love with the IM 75 gal ext and it fits perfect in my space. I can sell my new tank to my friend for 1k or just give it to my dad. My question is I dont have much space at all outside the tank/stand. Where would I keep the reservoir for the ato? Lfs said there won't be enough space inside stand due to sump and tank being only 75 gal...any advice on this and is it true? I don't want anything outside the tank/stand. If I have to put the ato reservoir outside tank is there anything else that needs to be put in or outside tank? I dont think i need a doser for soft corals. Also is the sump that much more difficult? This is my first tank but figure I should start with the size I want vs always wishing it was a bit bigger. Also the closed rear chamber and cleanness of the EXT really caught my eye vs my AIO splashing up some water from rear chamber.
I've attached pics of my space. The 75 will fit perfectly but I dont want anything outside of it. If its only the reservoir i should be able to make that work but other than that I can't add anything. Im hoping reservoir will fit inside stand. I do have the IM 5 gallon pull out drawer reservoir for the ato.

You can fit an ATO reservoir under the stand of the 75s, but they're either small or expensive. I have a 10 gallon one in a cabinet on the other side of the wall that I use instead of the in-stand options out there.

Could you link some options? And is there anything else that id need to add that i should be aware of my amount of space?

It looks like you are only going to have 5.77” width of space in the stand once the sump is in there. The only commercial option I’m aware of that will fit there is the Red Sea Reefcan 18…but it’s only a 5 gallon ATO. On that tank I would want a 10 gallon ATO.

A sump is not difficult and external overflow box is nice. The most “difficult” part will be adjusting your gate valve for the drain line, which isn’t hard.

I know you said you will only have soft corals, but that will change with time…so eventually you may want to put a doser in the stand.

Would the doser fit in the stand if I did keep the reservoir outside?

Ok so the reservoir is my only problem? For putting things outside of tank?

I would say so…unless you start adding things like a UV sterilizer, calcium reactor, controller, etc.

I think with a dosing pump and ATO you should be fine without needing to add a bunch of equipment

How do you know the inner dimensions of it? I looked on site but the pics looked like two different ones. Could you share

Would you be willing to have your tank slightly pulled back from the wall, and use one of these as a narrow 5-gallon container 'behind' your tank, as the water reservoir?

It has to be 5 inches off the wall anyways for the top chamber so that would be fine actually! Maybe I could even fit it inside.

I know for a fact this Tunze pump fits inside the hole; I use this setup on my IM 20-gallon.

New thought. If i keep my tank but in a year want to upgrade it is it possible to put my new tank in the same spot as this one and move my livestock and rock over? How would that work if old tank would have to have water ect? I'd put new tank in exact same spot...?

I have the 3512-- but assuming you have the same pump as shown in my previous photo, "yes." I have that pump in there now. (And I fill the water from the opposite hole.)
