75gal IM EXT question

I have the 3512-- but assuming you have the same pump as shown in my previous photo, "yes." I have that pump in there now. (And I fill the water from the opposite hole.)

Just curious that the 5 or 10 gallon? How big is your tank? The 5 would fit better for my tank but guess id just have to refill it more often. Thanks

New thought. If i keep my tank but in a year want to upgrade it is it possible to put my new tank in the same spot as this one and move my livestock and rock over? How would that work if old tank would have to have water ect? I'd put new tank in exact same spot...?

It’s a pain but can be done.

You would have to have buckets/containers etc to place all of your livestock and enough new saltwater mixed up to make up the difference from the old tank to new.

Once old tank is empty get it out of the way, set up new system and get everything back in it.

Flushing money down the toilet is just part of the hobby lol.

Enjoy the new tank. An external overflow and sump will be nice to have.

@PhamousPhish , it's the 5-gallon; they are pricey for essentially a jug (lol) (about $75), but are a heavy gauged material. I have it on a screen-top IM 20-gallon, with a lot of surface water agitation, in a quite hot room-- I'd say it can last a good 5 or 6 days between fill-ups. I hope that info helps.

I have been considering one for my IM15. I currently use a 5g bucket.
Another option is an advanced acrylic ato. I run them on 3 systems. You could find one that slides behind the ext tank as they make multiple sizes.
