Good Afternoon,

These are pictures and a video of my tank that is 7 months old. These pictures & videos were taken during the install weekend. I originally had a 2 year old Red Sea Reefer 450 but "unforunately" it had quite a lot of water damage.

I wanted to go bigger and make something that was much easier to maintain.
Equipment on the tank includes

2 x ECOTECH MARINE MP40WD'S
3 x ECOTECH RADION G3 PRO'S WITH WIDE ANGLE LENSES
1 x X FILTER 1.7 ROLLER FILTER
1 x NYOS 220 PROTEIN SKIMMER
2 x SCHEGO 600W HEATER
1 x D-D TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER
1 x ECOTECH MARINE M1 RETURN PUMP
1 x ECOTECH MARINE S1 RETURN PUMP
2 x KAMOER F4 DOSING PUMPS
1 x KAMOER X4 DOSING PUMP
1 x FAUNA MARIN 5L SKIM BREEZE CO2 SCRUBBER
30L SIPORAX MEDIA
1 x REEFLOAT 50L ATU CHAMBER
1 x REEFLOAT 106 AUTOMATIC WATER CHANGER

These pictures were added a week or so before my custom lid arrived.
Unfortunately after 2 months of running, I purchased a fish from a different LFS and introduced some form of illness onto the reef.
I lost many fish sadly, some of which I had had for a few years.
I am slowly building the stocking back up to where it was.

I hope that you enjoy the pictures and I will look to add some more recent pictures.

Beautiful setup. I love the gloss white. I was looking into the 1.7 filter roller as well but the cost shipped to the US was VERY VERY high.

Very clean under cabinet shots. Sorry to hear about that LFS mishap. I'm sure you will bounce back quickly.

Thankyou.

The stand was a custom steel framed stand.
The cabinet was custom made along with the tank and stand by a company called Aquariums4life here in the UK.

The X filter does work VERY well, I have no personal experience of using a clarisea but it beats changing filter floss in a media cup every week.
I changed the first roll after 6 months of use. I have gone for a lower micron rating.

I know that the UK manufacturer is apparently looking for international customers.

You guys have so much equipment that you cannot get here in the UK, such as

bulk packs of two little fishies green sea veggies
two little fishies reborn media

Thankyou, it was about a year or so in the planning.

I did want to add an Apex system but couldn't stretch to it.
I am looking at adding a Teco/Teko TK-1000 chiller and a D-D 80W UV light this year (all being well).

I am looking at moving in 2 years time and will then consider an Apex system, calcium reactor and a reefbot automatic water tester. That's my plan

Beautiful setup. How do you keep your sump so clean. Haha I vacuum mine out once a month and the next day it already had buildup in it. haha

I find that I don't get that much debris build up in the sump. I do need to vac to out into the x filter. I did buy some cheap aquarium vacuum from amazon that clearly wasn't designed to be used in water .

I designed this tank to be as low maintenance as possible, as I suffer from chronic fatigue and my old tank I was lugging buckets about every few days to top up the ATU.
I spend probably 1-3 hours a week now doing maintenance.

I use the home depot bucket topper wetvac. It works perfectly then you just take the 5gal bucket and dump it

This is what I use with the attachment kit to get a fine tip so I can get everything without sucking all the water out first. I use this to remove about 5 gallons of my 10 gallon water change.

If you wait long enough the female naoko will become male. Not sure if 2 will.tolerate each other.

I've had the fish approximately 1.5 years or so and she is still displaying female colouration. If she changed to male, would the colouration change as well?

I would think so. some take longer than others. But adding a male and then the female becomes a male I'd think youd have a stressed situation. I believe the naoko can be pretty aggressive. @evolved what do you think?

Thanks for the advice.
I wasn't planning on having any more than 5 tangs in total, I presume that my tank is big enough for 5 tangs?

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
