8 hr. fish transport

I have moved an entire tank from North Carolina to Arkansas in winter. I put the fish in 5 gallon buckets filled 3\4 full with fresh made water put 2 fish per bucket with a piece of live rock for comfort put lids on and drove 12 hours without loosing any fish, I personally think colder water hold better oxygen than warmer

I moved two clowns and a fairy wrasse from GA to FL. Took a little over 8 hours. Obviously smaller fish but I just put them in a decent sized Tupperware container for each and put them in a cooler. Floated them for 15 minutes at the house and in they went. Salinity was slightly lower in my tank. No issues with any of them.

Not true, the ph in a bag drops which protects the ammonia from becoming toxic. So bagging them is actually better[emoji6] as long as you use pure oxygen and add alittle prime or amquel to the water.
For the 12" one I'd use a 32" bag double or tripled up. Use plastic zip ties to close it up.
Triggers are notorious for biting the bags and popping them so id have extra stuff ready.
Oh and put all bags in styro container to keep temp stable.

Very helpful, thank you!

Nicely done! Thank you for the input.
