80 Gallon Stocking Ideas

Hello! I'm super excited to be upgrading my tank and wanted to run some stocking ideas past everyone. I appreciate the advice and input!

My new system is a 80 gal 36" × 18" x 31" with a 20 gal Sump. I will be moving over my corals which are mostly softies and lps and my current residents.

The current stock list of residents I will be moving over is

2 Clowns oscellaris
1 midas blenny
1 skunk cleaner
1 scopas tang
& cuc

I also have another clown in a pico I would like to move over, but I'm not sure about aggression and I'd hate to lose a clown :,)

Thanks in advance! What other fish would you guys recommend? I love gobies, possibly a sand sifter- my partner wants chromis, and likes the look of a fox face-

The tank also comes with a yellow tail damsel and a swords tail and fiji terror? I haven't been able to find much information on the latter two if anyone has advice...

Anyways that's my ramble, please let me know your thoughts!

Keep the clown in the other tank. It’s not a good idea to add it with the other clowns.

There’s should all work fine together with each other, and your current inhabitants.

Hey thanks for your advice! I picked up a fox face to add to my list- otherwise everything is getting along really well.

I was wondering about the compatability between yellow head sleeper gobies and pearly jawfish? I'm thinking of adding in a pair of sleeper gobies because my partner likes them but I also like the thought of pearly jawfish as opposed to the expensive blue spot kind. Do you think they'll get along? Or do they look too similar/act too similar?

My tank is 31x36x18 with a 3-4" soft sand bed with tons of burried rock- do you think I would be overloading on sand dwellers?

They should get along, but since they look so similar, its hard to say for sure. However, your tank is large enough that you likely wont have any issues, so I think it will be fine.

blue spots require a cold-water environment to survive, so you wouldnt be able to keep one anyway.

You’re not overloaded on sand dwellers, but after you get these fish i wouldn’t get anymore.

Definitely a diamond goby!!! Great fish with personality and they’ll keep sand nice and clean.

Is the tank 18 inches wide and 31 inches in height? Or 31 inches wide and 18 inches high? That make a big different.
Regardless either way. The Foxface will grow too large for it. The Scopas tang too.
Perhaps you. A keep a Tomini or a Kole tang and a Convict tang.

Those fish are fine. I’d go for the blenny to be safe.

I thought that tank was a normal tank and not a cube so it’s a little small for a fox face and a scopas. If it’s a baby you can keep it in there for a while, but when it gets older I would rehome it.
