90 gal led lighting

Back after 3 yr layoff. I have a 90g regular dimensions and looking for best led lighting options under $1000 reef for lps/spa. Was possibly looking at 2 or 3 kessil a360we.

How about one Orphek Atlantic v4 fixture? I've never used one but dang they seem nice.

2 hydra 26 HD will be enough. you can get a pair second hand for 500ish

Go with your gut.
2-3 Kessils.
3 is better just for coverage. 4 would be amazing.

Thanks guys, I had narrowed it down to the kessils and hydras but don’t have any personal experience with leds, a few yrs ago they were way out of my price range

It’s a bit of trial and error and some research.
Each Led has a look and color to it
Like mh bulbs and t5 combos.
There are a lot of kinda complicated set up ones with lots of dials and WiFi.
Kessil is prettt simple.
Some , like above , are multi emitters, kessils are pucks or pendants.

The Orphek Atlantik look nice. Hadn’t seen that one. Those kessil shimmering are a sight though

+1 or Radions
I use Radions on My tank and I like them a lot, 2 XR15 will be good for a mixed reef.

If someone told me that I'm geting a 90 gallon and 1000 dollars to spend on nothing but leds, I would go straight to the Atlantic orphek fixture. Sure kessils are nice with the shimmer but 2 won't get it done, 3 or 4 is more like it. I say this because you are mentioning keeping sps. Radions I love but 2 15s would be minimum for getting by, 2 30s would be more like it.
Just my opinion. Can't wait to see what you go with.

Thanks for all the input lol hard to decide, I saw a few videos of the Orphek just want to make sure it covers the 48” and can’t hang it at the 16” they recommend because I don’t want the light hitting me in the face when I sit on the couch. Radeons are nice but out of my price range for 2 of them.

I doubt you have to absolutely hang them at 16 inches and other leds like Kessils and Hydras will need to be raised up too. A floating canopy or shade will be needed there then. For coverage on a 90, two of the compacts would probably work awesome for a 90. I'm not trying to sell you an Orphek and right now I'm running T5s with a Reefbrite, but if I was going straight led then I would go atlantic v4. I think BRS has a great video reviewing them as well.
