Hey guys it’s me again . I got the bug after the 150 and decided to go BIG!! I wanted a bigger tank my wife wanted a new house .. so we compromised lol she got the house and I got the architect to make the aquarium the center piece ..

it’s a acrylic 1” thick all the way around , its getting built by the one and only JOHN from advanced acrylics !!

anyways for those of you with experience what’s a good skimmer option? I would prefer to run two externals for the redundancy..last night I was looking at the BASHSEA 8-30

P.s. if you guys are reading I wouldn’t mind a sponsor - I wouldn’t mind being the Ginny PIG

Congratulations! I can only dream to follow in your footsteps.

Are they only building tank? Are you doing the plumbing yourself? Assuming the stand will be integrated as part of your house structure, wall, etc?

That’s gonna be quit the tank now!! Picking out fish for it will be a blast!
skimmer, I recommend lifereef. I tried others before I ever knew about that brand but once I tried one I was sold. My current one is on a 400 gal. system and is 6 ft.tall. It does a great job for me and I never have to worry about not being able to get a replacement pump for it. I did replace my mag 36 with a Periha pump a month ago which is dc and quiet. So far it’s a great pump and cut my wattage a bit too.
looking forward to seeing your new tank.

The white picture is of the floor plan. Originally the tank was going to be 3’ - but I ended up charging it to 4’ wide . I drew in in blue the location of the tank it will be viewable from three sides. The 10’ viewing planes will devide my home office from the living space . A 4’ area will be viewable as people walk into the house .

the last picture if of the view my fishes have of the living room

For those of you with experience with penninsula tanks . I have untill the end of the week to submit my hole layout for the underside of the close loop pumps . What do you all recommend ?

please provide a picture .

mom going pennninsula because I don’t want any pumps on the 4’ viewing panel .

so it’s past the 5’ half point mark where I want to put 2-3 sets of close loop pumps with vivid random flow generators piped in between the rock structure .

I have the MRC Reeflo Orca Pro 2 for my 1100 build I like the reeflo pump. I have used them for years and really like that they are quiet and have great customer service.
This project is looking good.

Curious, someday down the road I am planning on getting a large tank and wanted to implement a closed loop. I tried to find info on the design and was unable to. The suction side, do people just use one of the plastic screens on it? Does it typically need to be cleaned?

Agree with Mrc .
great skimmers .

for the footprint , they are rated for large tanks .
I have the MR2 . A fairly small skimmer compared to your build.
It’s rated for 300+ with single Beckett .
