So long story short, the wife and I decided to go to Orlando for the r2r meet and great at wwc. Ended up spending to much in new frags and some how decided to get another tank (don' know how this happen)

We looked around for used tanks, had in mind a 20 or 40 shallow. Instead we got a hold of a used 90g deep blue professional tank and stand for $375 and the guy would drop it off in his truck for free, we couldn't say no.

So now we have a 90g tank and stand, just got a 40g breeder to make into a sump, don't know yet if it's going to be a diy sump or just have someone build it for us. I found someone that would charge $185 to build the sump for me with two sock holders, refugium, skimmer, and return section not bad right? We would have to unscrew
the top of the stand to drop the sump because it wont fit any other way.

We have pretty much decided on what equipment to buy but any sugestions are well appreciated.

Now I have some concerns with the tank.... I was just inspecting it and noticed a little gap in between the glass and the black trim that holds the bottom, should I be concern? The gap is only in the front of the tank the sides and back have some silicone on. We are going to do a leak test probably at the end of the week. Any tank expert that could help?

The idea is to make this a grow out system. I have in mind red seas accelerated grow system, With heavy feeding. So the sump needs to be as effcient as possibe I think we are going to go with a lot of macroalge and a lot of live rock.

How would you guys set the sump up? Any ideas please

Looking good man! If that trim/silicone is the outside corner I wouldn't worry about it.
Thanks!! I can't wait to finish it!
I did a leak test for a couple hous and it didn't leak so I think it's ok

Ok so that took longer than expected, literall the whole day.
The wife was upset because she had to work but was happy once she saw how much work I put in to it today!
Finish gluing everything together, tried 5 lfs but none could deliver the water today, so my only option was to rent a home depot truck and buy some containers that I can use to do water changes in the future.....
Took one trip got about 60lb of live rock and about 90g of salt water
The guy at the lfs laugh when I told him I just glued everything and wanted to finish filling the tank, he said "No leak test? And first time plumbing? Ha ha" well guess what there's not one single leak ;)

Everything looking good so far tank is cycling added 3 cubes of frozen food. I'm going to be away for business for a whole week, I'm planning on starting red seas mature kit when I come back or I might add some bacteria bit I really don' know what yet, any input is well appeciated.
So little update, today my refugium light arrived I was going to go with a kessil tuna flora but instead got a ufo grow light from Amazon... that thing is a beast bigger than expected I got the 300 watt.
Yesterday I added a gallon of marine ceramic balls to my refugium.
I should be getting the eggcrates to build the frag rack at the end of the week.
Instead of going with the 8 bulb t5 grow light I got the 6 bulb and plan on adding some reefbrites and maybe 3 or 4 single led moon lights, since it's going to be in the living room I want it to be appealing also at night. I thing the 8 bulb fixture would of been to wide. I didn' want to waste a whole bulb.

So I ended up not using the red sea mature kit. Instead I added some fritz bacteria.
I'm pretty sure the tank is done cycling, it had a short algae bloom and then some diatoms apearred, tested the water last week and had 0 ammonia 0 nitrates and 0 pospathes. Did a water change just in case. Just need to secure the frag rack and start adding corals

Have not done any wiring yet but at least the water is ready for some corals and the frag rack is secured what you guys think?

Lights bulbs are in everything is probably gonna put some inexpensive stuff first to see what happens
