You need to do an immediate 100% Water Change for sure.

Looks like a bacteria and algae bloom but hard to say what caused it.

Need a lot more info, something must've died suddenly.

There isn’t anything in there that can die except for my seahorses

What filter system do you have, is it a HOB?

What's your maintenance routine? How often are you cleaning your tank?

Do you have a sand bed? Do you clean it?

Tons of things to ask, but in terms of saving your sea horses from certain death, you need to do a 100% WC. so I'd get to mixing......

We can speculate later, but speculating isn't going to save the life of your horses rn.

In terms of the foam, it's bacteria. Not sure what kind exactly you'd have to get it under a microscope.

The water color also is from bacteria/ammonia.

Scoop the foam out into a cup, and keep some of the water.

We can get it under a scope later.

But hopefully you can make/have enough water tonight to save those horses.

If you have a 5G Bucket with a small small small power head you may be able to move the horses into there for now with new clean water while you mix up the rest of the water for your tank.

but basically just get that water out to start.

Do you have new filtration media you can replace and put in?

If you use instant ocean salt it's safe to mix with a bubbler and use straight away, just bring water to temp first. If you have a large vase or something with bubbler that might help temporarily

Gotcha canister filter, yeah I really don't recommend those for Saltwater.

Looks like this was most like "building up" and something today hit a tipping point. You maybe did a large feeding and then bacteria just went out of control.

Bacteria can multiply so fast and rapidly it's insane.

You need to do a rip clean of the whole filter system and tank.

So if you can get a 5G set up with a power head for those horses for now.

Don't blast them obviously, hopefully you have a small enough power head.

Even and air stone in a bucket would be okay for now if that's all you got.
