A. Millepora for sure. Maybe ASD milli or JF solar flare for trade name. Looks like it’s happy and doing well!
I appreciate it. What thinking millepora, but looked a little different. It decided to perk up recently!

Here is something I found interesting. A huge table o' Bill Murray turned greenish a while back. I sent off an ICP and iodine was elevated. I stopped dosing iodine and the color is coming back to the tips.

I am not sure. It came off a mariculture colony. I have it in several tanks and it looks different. Some sort of pearlberry type. Not great with IDs

Very nice! I routinely change 10-20% of my water weekly so I’ve never been one to dose trace elements, but that’s really interesting.

Really nice looking tank. Love to see the mix of different SPS corals growing tightly together. Gives a more natural appearance, IMO

For sure! Watching corals battle and then trimming the aggressor keeps me occupied. It is very interesting to me to see what corals tolerate each other. Some surprising interactions!

Loving these Abrotanoides. Giving me a reason to upgrade and give them the proper space to grow.

Lost about 90% of my Acropora at the end of 2023 due to unknown pathogen. Managed to save a few and collect a bunch of other things. Just moved homes recently so things are just settling in from the transfer and sps corals a little ticked off still. I’ll break out the camera sooner or later but a few quick phone pics for now.

Welcome back.

I’m glad you decided to post in your thread because I have this RR OP that I got from someone local to me, and couldn’t figure out which RR it’s from. But looking at your RRA OP, mine closely resembles what you had. It’s like the red headed step child of the RR OPs.

Ahh yeah the RRA OP was a nice coral, but I ran too warm of a spectrum for it to really look good. It was a stunner under blues though. I would consider it one of the OG Tenuis now. Here’s it under blues w a filter

Lost that one with the majority of the acros in this thread from a pathogen. Loved that coral though, it’s a top 5 acro for me
Sorry that all happened to you, I did read where you had mentioned losing about 90% of your coral, sad times for sure.

I took this picture of mine on Wednesday night. But I hope everything is going well for you now… Are you doing anything differently to avoid a repeat pathogen issue?

That’s a nicely colored frag, looks like it’s ready to take off. Mine was one of the faster growers once it got going.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s much out there to prevent pathogens other than antibiotic treatment, which I’m not a fan of. I’ve ran my tanks the same way for nearly 20 years and never experienced anything like what happened in that tank. I know I’m not the first and won’t be the last to have their collection wiped out due to pathogen. There’s so much still unknown when it comes to this stuff.

Im keeping a super mixed reef now with not nearly as many acros. I’m not as focused on them as I once was so it’s not something I really worry about. I am running uv now but I’m not sure that would make much difference if it’s a bacterial issue within the corals
