Bayer is how I ended up with AEFW -- my dip was stronger than yours, and I dipped for 15 minutes.

I advocate the use of melafix pond. It is especially tough on flatworms.

I killed off the AEFW with melafix dipping twice weekly, and replacing my rock work.

So I saw a post a long time ago that was showing the dip strength required to kill AEFW. IIRC, it was around 30ml/cup for total AEFW death, though this doesn't account for the eggs of course. I typically remove the frag plug if I can, but if I can't I sit there with a tooth brush for a good amount of time.

Honestly, I don't trust Bayer, it's not good enough. Try melafix pond.. 1ml per cup, knocks them off literally in SECONDS. kills in minutes.

I used melafix to kill lps spiders for a vendor.

Nothing comes close to melafix.

You talking about API Melafix? https://www.amazon.com/API-MELAFIX-Freshwater-Bacterial-Infection/dp/B0002567SW

I might actually have some on hand from my FW days, though I'm not sure if it's expired/if it even expires lol.
Yes, but specifically the Pond version, as it's VERY concentrated. They are functionally identical except for concentration.

This is the dosage you use with each melafix type

Regular melafix; 65mL/gallon
Saltwater melafix; 50mL/gallon
Pond melafix; 10mL/gallon

I personally use about 1.5 - 2mL/cup.

It knocks off all species of flatworms nearly instantly. It's VERY hard on any inverts.

Melafix is a 5-6 minute dip only. Be extremely mindful of the clock, set a timer. Especially if you use the dosage I use. I will also note I see no difference between 0.75mL to 3mL of pond per cup.

Melafix shouldn't go bad, it's just tea tree oil and rodi water!

It's the most effective dip I've ever used, for every pest. It's the only thing I've seen kill LPS/SPS spiders.

Have a link to the stuff you use?

Thanks

how's the rr lemon drop?

Out of all of my coral, this one has struggled the most. I bought it during a RR live sale and it arrived in really bad shape. With my somewhat recent dosing of n03/p04, I've started to see some phosphorescence so I'm hoping it will recover fully.

Short answer? Thoughts and prayers.

**Edit** I've actually considered just giving up on it in the past, but I kept it hoping it would recover. After seeing the phosphorescence, I basically said I'd let that acro sit there indefinitely until I stop seeing any kind of polyps.

@Rakie @golfer88

After looking at my account, I realized I confused my RR LE Lemon Drop with my RR Yellow Passion. My Yellow Passion is the one that's struggling, not the Lemon Drop. I'll take a picture of it tonight and tag you both ((Still at "work"))

Okay, if you happen to have the vendors picture of his colony or frag it's always worth saving to compare. Especially from vendors who frequently sell out stock and don't seem to keep things long term.

Here are some bad pictures of the piece.

When I First Got It
As you can tell, they came in in horrible shape. I ended up getting a refund for the majority.

After adding the metal halides and increasing nutrients, the coral is starting to color up more and more. I'll take a top down shot of it next time I raise the lights.

Kind of makes sense when you look at how terrible it was when it arrived. I pretty much refuse to buy from RRUSA because of that.

Here's a more clear side-by-side to show how bad it was when I received it vs. last month:
