stepped out of reefing for a couple yrs and i’m looking to get back into the hobbie with a uns r150z. my last running tank was a 35g bow front i got off a friend. i’m on the fence about buying an apex pro. so i came here like i always did when i needed answers to a question. i searched a3 apex but found a lot of them for sale? is there any reason why? i never had a controller and i know i can run the tank without one but is the convenience worth the price of admission and the for sale threads make me a little more hesitant.

I have had a APEX since 2012 and have followed the upgrades other than a few issues all my fault I’ve had no issues.
That being said depending on modules such as the trident there have been issues.
Personally I don’t own a trident wanting to get one, want one but haven’t pulled the plug on one. For a couple reason, the main was I don’t have space.

You will find many folks that love their APEX and many that hate it mainly depending on the issue.
I would research it more look at alternatives as well and go from there.
