I’m using a ponder waterfall but in reverse. I cut out the center of it and install a 3” bulkhead.

I cut out the side of the tank to fit the waterfall in nicely. Then continued to use pond armor and fiberglass to waterproof the cut out.

That’s very intelligent, I may have to steal this idea. Thanks for sharing.

Hey - do you live in east Ventura off of and near Feather Street?!

I'm in Oxnard near River Ridge Golf Course. My friend (Jason), tank counselor, and coral grower lives on Feather Street though. He said he met a guy around the corner from him that had recently moved in who was building an enormous 1,000gal tank!

Yes that’s me. Jason seems like a cool dude. Looking forward to buying some frags from him.

Corner panels in and fiberglassed. Back side of tank has its final coat. Installed brackets for the windows to sit on. Cut the top planks and the removable tops for the corner panels (for access to the MP40WQDs). All the top planks stick out over the water 1.25” and act as splash guards and are waterproofed. The black pieces in my hand are the splash guards for the corner panels. The exterior of the tank will be done last. It will not be wood looking lol.

This might be the last time I get to work on the build till next year. Holiday fun time.

I am digging the wood look. Perhaps consider staining it, before you follow through with skinning it.

Not a bad idea but the boss (aka wide) says no. I have to do something better she says. So I’m thinking I’ll do stacked stone on the Sides and possibly flat rock to match on top. Not positive yet.

Alright every I got the final (12 coats) coat of epoxy on and Got both glass windows installed. The larger window was a bit more difficult. Needed a lot more braces and 5 tubes of silicone for extra measure. Also siliconed up the corner panel splash guards. I’m hoping to work on the rockscape or sump next. Not quite sure yet. I Still have a ton of stuff to finish up but at least it’s water tight....hopefully.

The brace there is just to keep the side of the overflow pushed up against the wall

This is amazing. I assume you won't be using a substrate? With as much flow as you will have to have, any substrate you tried would just get destroyed.

Also, how big is your sump going to be? And are you planning in using a ton of Marine pure?
