I just acquired some interceptor and about to prepare for treating to eliminate what I believe is white bug (see video).
I will be setting up a temporary tank to house my hermit crabs but was wondering if it would be a bad idea to also pull some chaeto to help reseed pods afterwards. Does anyone know how long it takes for the acro eating pods to starve out?

I wouldn’t risk it by untreating Chaeto just to save some pods. If there are any white bug pods in the Chaeto then you’ll have to start treatment all over. Are you asking how long it takes white bugs to starve in a tank with no acros? I have no idea, for all I know they may even be able to survive on something else.

Yeah, white bugs must go, all of them. Don’t worry about “good” pods, they are overrated, maybe with the exception of in new tanks.

Agreed. Cool fish, but I like coral more than fish so I’d get rid of the mandarin or keep it in different tank if you have it.
I've no way to trap him out unfortunately so if he perishes then that's just how it is, as bad as that may sound. My corals come first. I've read a lot of info on interceptor dosing and saw where most say their mandarins made it through just fine, so fingers crossed.

In your case, I’d probably buy a bunch of pods after the third week of treatment.

Have had a couple biota mandarins make it and one wild one that didnt, adding pods after will definitely help. Wishing u luck
