Got my new LPS saturday and its looking good. Except Sunday night when I found a lump on it, looked closely it was a stupid mushroom decided to say hello. I had to gently pull the mushroom off it.

Just hope no more want to say hello. ATM the frag is in very low flow area.

That’s actually a micromussa lordhowensis, not an acan.

Really ?. Does that mean I have been ripped off and it is not a LPS coral. But is this coral easy to keep also.

While some will give you the complete scientific name it is lost definitely what most hobbits would call an Acan. If you got a mushroom from the frag that is just a bonus coral!

Yes that was known as an Acanthastrea lordhowensis and now its called micromussa lordhowensis. SO basically acan is still correct.
