My acan looks weird. Everything has been fine for months, I got home around 3:30 and at 5:30 I noticed it was starting to look odd and it’s been getting worse. I changed my water on Sunday morning. Other than that no Changes have been made. I run chemipure elite and have not changed the bag in two weeks. Please help :(

Sundays water Param:
Salinity 1.026
Temp 78.5
Ph 7.8
Alk 8.4
Phos 1.0
Nitrate 2ppm
Calcium 400

Today’s water (Monday Night)
Salinity 1.026
Temp 78.5
Ph 8.0
Alk 9.1
Phos .08
Nitrate 2ppm
Calc 440

I’ve had my acans shrink up like that when my alk has changed like that quickly.
Do you think a .5 alk change is enough to do that? I’m just now starting to understand the alk thing. I think I remember reading somewhere that you could raise alk buy 1.0 every 24hrs? I may be and likely am incorrect lol

I’m pretty sure you’re right (not positive on how much it can change). For whatever reason though, my euphyllia and acans seem to be sensitive to even small changes in alk.

Thanks now that you mention it my hammer was slightly but noticeably smallerish looking today. Hopefully it will bounce back :(
