Can someone tell me what these filaments are coming off my toadstool. they are at the base of the toadstool where it's attached to the rock fragment. I don't see any vermetid snail tubes so I'm at a loss. Is this how toadstools eat? Any help would be appreciated.

I only see one thread in the picture, and I would guess its from some sort of tube worm. The coral looks fine to me.

It's pretty isolated at this point, not really bothering anything so I'll just let it go. Was more worried about some type of spread onto other things. What's weird is I can't find the source of the filaments, it's like they are coming out of the rock.

Did you look at images of Ctenophora?

Actually did look at some images of it and saw some examples of them kind of on the bottom of toadstools. With their filaments that come out but in each of those instances it seem like there was something there whether it was round or oval or like what I see in the pictures. These little things look like they're actually coming out of the side of the rock which is at the base of the toadstool. I did hear a suggestion that they might be spaghetti worms?? Either way I don't know if I should just leave them or pull the Toadstool out and clean them off. The toadstools very happy very inflated and is doubled in size in the last 6 months.

I am at a loss as to why you would disturb the tank and corals to remove it, why? There's going to be numerous unknown inverts in every system. The vast majority are a great sign of diversity and pose no detriment to the system.
Enjoy your happy and healthy corals.

🙂
