Acanthophyllia concern.

Hello,

I have one of meat corals that seems to be struggling. It has been about 1 week. I recently moved to a new home and upgraded from a 6 foot to an 8 foot tank the move went well and parameters are in check and stable. I broadcast feed 1-3 times a week depending on nutrients and use ab plus 1-2 times per week. It have had this particular meat for about a year. I try to target feed but butt you can see by the photos my tangs and butterfly eat the food right outta their mouths. Any help is greatly appreciated. I include pictures for reference on how other corals look. You can see they here asking for food after I feed the fish:) they always seem hungry

They are hit or miss even if fed well.

Acanthophyllia are my fav coral. I have 3 in my reef, and I’ve found they really appreciate not only low, but random flow. Just enough so that they giggle a little and not so much that any one side gets pressed against their skeleton.

You already have them on the sand bed, so intense lighting shouldn’t be an issue. But 5 Radions still put out a lot of intensity. What do you have them running at peak intensity?

I broadcast feed my tank zooplankton once a week and that plus light and fish poop seems to be enough for them. You could always put an upside down strawberry container over it if you want to target feed (to prevent the Tangs from stealing its food and possibly injuring it).

Lastly, they respond well to iodine dips when struggling. I’ve had good success with Seachem ReefDip. Good luck!

Could you specify which coral you are talking about, and post some clearer pictures under white light of that coral specifically? I see a cynarina, acantho and what looks to be an indophillia. None look bad.

Give us some specifics and clear pics to go on.

I am trying to get photo under white light but möbius is being difficult:) here is a pic of piece in question. I have a hard time seeing differences between acantho and indophillia. I believe this is a acantho although when inflated it has the iridescent appearance of a cy
