Hey guys,

I'm having issues with my new acro frags and I'm uncertain of the cause. The frags are 2 weeks into the system and have bleached and recently possibly some RTN. Initially I believed I had hit them with too much light to soon and so after 2 days I reduced the intensity, but the bleaching did not stop. My parameters are stable and test most daily/every other day. 8.4DKH, calcium 450ppm, 1.027SG, Magnesium 1350ppm, PO4 0.08ppm, Nitrate 1.5ppm, temp 29c. I am dosing 2 part with tropic marin trace elements. The temperature is high but stable, and has been historically set at 29c, I believed it was due to inaccurate temp probe, but am now testing via 3 methods which all confirm 29c. I have now realised that the thermostat on my eheim jager has failed, for the second time in just over a year and is stuck at this temperature. Could this high temperature, although stable, be the cause for the bleached acros? My other SPS, LPS and Zoas are thriving. I would also like to add that not all of this batch of acros have bleached, my miyagi tort and acropora yongei appear fine.

I have attached a few examples of some of the acropora frags

Thanks for any help

Not sure if it's your whole problem but 29C (84F) would definitely be a stressor. I'd start pulling that temp down.

Oh and your high salinity is stressing as well and I'd work on that too

Thanks for the suggestions, a new heater will be put in tomorrow and hopefully that resolves the issue. Do you think there is any hope for the frags or are they gonners at this point?

Apologies, I have just calibrated my refractometer and my SG is actually at 1.027
