Acro not doing so well

I made a mistake and broke my acro yesterday (that finally started to look good) All I was doing was putting him officially on a rock since he started to look so well but now he isn’t as colorful as yesterday nor is his polyps extended as much please see pics

Okay cool thank you so much. Yeah part of the tip broke off when I was cleaning the tank.

That is bleaching, I would move back to the rack or turn down the lights, if turning down the lights won't matter of course. It could acclimate in the same position and same lighting but it will take a while.

I've bleached alot of acro frags the same way. I think they are ready but the shift, sometimes just a couple of inches, is too much.

Shoot he is glued pretty well right now to the rock do you think he can survive if I leave him? I do t care if it takes a while

It may or may not. Do you have more sps? If so have they done well in the tank? No guarantees in reefing, except it will cost more than you think and you will always run out of room.

I have a green slimer and that’s it. The green slimer has been growing like CRAZY! It’s mostly a softy tank tho

I would turn the lights down a bit and acclimate it. Softies and the slimer should handle the reduction in light fine.

Another vote for it just being stressed. You moved it from it's happy place and it's pouting. Looks like it's likely a bit higher up as well which shouldn't be an issue for it, but it needs to get used to it.

Imagine yourself staying inside all winter where the sun never really hits you then spending a full day outside on the first sunny day you get. You'll get sunburned. You'll live, but you'll change colors for a bit.

I agree. Just dial back the lights for a week or so, then turn the up a bit.. .then more the next week and so on until you're at full power.

I agree with definitely acclimating that coral, its a beautiful piece
