Acro on Monti cap

Can I glue a Strawberry Shorcake frag (on a 1” disk) to the center of this Cap? I’ve seen some others do this but not sure of the long terms health or which coral could be killed off. I’m kinda outta room on rocks and wanted to experiment.

Lots of people do it. You might need to intervene as they encrust to get near each other. In an ideal place, they would just call a truce with a DMZ and work it out themselves.

You definitely can but caps find their way around everything and are very hardy compared to a shortcake

Here is a valida, red and purple monti coexisting. From my old tank.

In my experience it works best when a monti grows around an encrusted acro. Anytime I try to stick an acro frag on top of a monti, the monti always wins.

Thanks for the tip. My frag's a fresh cut which I normally don't but but for $20 I took it. I'll leave on a rack until the frag disk is encrusted well.
