Sounds like stn (Slow Tissue Necrosis). I have no idea how to fix it.

STN

The exact reason I forever cursed Acros out of my life and leave all Acros looking puuurdy at the LFS. Too much of a heartbreak to grow an Acro out for 2 years and then watch it die in 4 days.

Hate to say it. When STN starts, very little you can do to stop it. Sometimes if you frag above the STN and figure out what is causing the STN (water chemistry?)... you might be able to save some of your collection.

I have not had much experience, and I have never had acros. I have heard that 0 nitrate can lead to many issues, especially weaker color and tissue. If I were you, I might try raising nitrate to 1-5ppm.
