Hey all,

Got this a acros like 2/3 days ago, and everything was well. but and then after i dipped, the next day it turns like that.

This is my first time handling acros so i’m no sure if they are done (dead) or i should just leave them in and see how it goes? and if yes for how long or what signs should i look for?

Thank you!

Number 1 question is going to be - how old is the tank.
Number 2 question is going to be tank parameters (Salinity, Alk, Ca, Nitrate and Phosphate)

How did you dip them and with what dip?

Post a photo of the whole tank under white light

To answer your QUESTION the two on the ends are toast. Unless I forget how to read I don't recall any other information requested? So yeah you can trash em.

Yes dead, not bleaching but Rapid tissue necrosis. Tank looks very new etc no coralline.

Acros need high light and heavy random flow with stable prams

You dipped them too long. You never dip corals that are shipped or freshly taken out of another system. That stresses them and then you dip them and really work them over.

Those potentially could be brought back by someone who really knows what they're doing, but at this point, they're gone. Acropora are not beginner corals.

I will give you my observations from that picture.

Judging from the tank it looks like the setup is less than 6 months old.
It looks like you placed them high in the tank.

How did you acclimate?
What dip? How did you preform the dip?
Lighting? Par?
Flow?
All parameters you tested and what kits.

To be honest, I never take out a frag until it's completely dead. If you don't see any polyps whatsoever on the two end pieces, they are dead.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
