Acros and Kessils?

Pulled the trigger on the Reef Brite quad XHO setup. Going to try and snag a PAR meter w/o the wife noticing and plan to post the findings here.

As a long term user of Kessil 360 series you need 1 per foot if not supplemented for good coverage. I wouldn't use any other light. I like the look way too much.

Is anyone having good success growing acros under Kessil A360XE’s? I’m currently running two on a 48x24” tank and was hoping for 20x20” of decent coverage from each. They look great but I’m concerned about the shading which got me wondering what others are doing

Yes — plenty of people are growing acros successfully under A360XEs, but your concern is valid and very common.

So yes, it works — but most successful setups don’t rely on the A360XE alone once the tank becomes SPS-heavy. Your thinking is right in line with what others experience

Got em going, dang they’re blue! Cranked the kessils color to 100 to offset and still have a Windex tank Has anyone messed with swapping the strips for different colors? Reef Brite lists four options but doesn’t mention what kelvin they mimic. Was thinking of swapping two blues for daylight. Still pretty stoked

Hmmm... maybe email reefbrite and let them know your situation. Maybe they will swap two out for more daylight version.

Two X360XE’s alone on that size tank wont be ideal for growing SPS. You want more par and coverage.
