When I had no canister or heater
Highly recommend a heater, even in sunny california weather.
Highly don’t recommend Yellow Stripe Clingfish. Cool fish. Worst nano fish you could get. Just doesn’t belong in captivity.
Reasons: Hard to feed and train to eat frozen (Likes live baby brine tho). I tried multiple roe types. Attempts to jump every other day. So skinny it fit in the mini surface skimmer intake gates. Harasses sexy shrimp & hermits.

very cool! like a classic ada/nano reef mixup. I might have to try something like this for a desktop tank one of these days

Lid from ClearViewLids arrived today after a long time of getting the measurements right. The lid goes hard! Guys at ClearView outdone themselves.

do you have any concerns about the uns light mount rusting in the salt water? (i think some of the inner part may be touching the water?) i was considering it for a possible future build but am hesitant. i know UNS is primarily a freshwater focused company hence no mention if it is saltwater compatible on their website

I don’t have much concerns of the light mount rusting. On the Ultumn Nature website it states that the hanging kit is made of “Rust Proof Stainless Steel.”. Big word here i like: “PROOF”!!! Not just rust resistant. UNS seems to also sell pretty high quality products so I personally trust it. Bet as long as I don’t scratch the steel around or in the water, i shouldn’t worry about rust.

Got a Fox Coral comin in some time next week or two. I’m also looking to get a Tanaka Pygmy wrasse, tiny gobies (eviotas, yellow clown, panda, masked goby, flaming prawn, sharknose, the sorts), tiny shrimp, & crabs but they’re pretty hard to find near me rn. Just gotta keep checking.

Goin back to college to continue the Aviation Maintenance course. Got a real nice LFS there. Stores called Seaside Tropical @ Huntington Beach Cali, been opened since 1989 so they got good relationship with their suppliers. Really hoping to find some cool stuff.

Here’s an video I took in the past of the Yasha Gobies for the time being.

Others not shown: More strawberry anemone (12 total), purple feather duster, coco worm, indo blue mushroom, green rhodactis, pom pom crab.

Still unable to find another tiny fitting fish for this build. Tempted with a Blue Assessor but I value my sexy shrimp lol.

The search continues…

Believe there are around 13-14 Strawberry Anemone polyps total. The 4 of them Ive had for a while seems to be spreading further. Redder looking ones are the ones I’ve had for a few months. Pale ones are new. Hoping to see some more babies soon.

how much did this setup cost livestock-wise (excluding the ada tank and the non essential stff, just light and pump)
I’d say around $600 total for every livestock i currently have. This includes all the snails as well. Around $800 total for stuff that didn’t make it very long in the tank including the stuff that’s living.

I just can’t seem to get away from gorgs lol.

Scored this combo rock with some snake polyps (left of golden rod gorg).
