Thanks. I figure now that things are growing nicely it’s time to stop upping the percentage. Any new corals will now have to work around what I have. Even for my WD frag, I’m not going to adjust the lighting for just one frag.

Mind if I ask where you maintain your alk, NO3, and PO4?

Mine is steady at alk7.8-8.1, 5-10 NO3, and PO4 at .03-.06

New addition just picked up from a LFS. I believe it's an ORA Rose Milli but not sure because of the 2" black plastic disk its on. I'm unaware of any places that use a 2"
black plastic plug.

After seeing the other SPS tanks on the Par Data Base post, I've started upping my light percentage again. Slowly 1% every few days and we'll see what happens.

Edit: I decided to not do it. If things in my tank are happy, why mess with the settings.

So a little update. The tank is coming along good, acros growing nicely, acans are sprouting new heads and I decided to add a new fish. A Creamsicle Lyretail Molly. No issues with algae but he was starting to bully my other Molly in my freshwater tank, so he had to go. Last night I did the 8 hour acclimation and a good surprise is he’s still alive this morning and eating with the other fish. The female clown doesn’t like him yet but hopefully she’ll warm up to him and not kill him.

Googled pic but he looks exactly like this.

Well that didn't last long. I think the female Clown killed the Molly as she was constantly harassing him and now there is no sigh of him. Not even a body unless either it's buried in the rocks or it's now a crab feast. :(

Been a while since I posted about this tank but things for the next 4 days are going to be different. A fast moving storm went though my area and knocked out my Apex Classic Main Module. A lightning strike hit my neighbors back year and blew out his TVs, cable boxes and his modem. Talked it over with the wife and instead of 2-3 weeks waiting for Neptune to fix it or say they can't, I just ordered a new full Apex(2016 model), bank account is saying ouch right now. But it should be here on Wednesday from Marine Depot. So that means dosing by hand multiple times a day, using a cheap thermometer to best guess the temps on my heaters. Luckily the light has it's own controller and the Vortechs are synced to each other for a constant Reef Crest mode and not changing modes throughout the day. ATO is a separate unit, XPAqua. Meanwhile when I do get the new one it's going to be a long night setting everything up again as I stupidly did not backup my settings. :(

Well Wednesday is here and Marine Depot delivered as promised. Took me a few hours but I got the new Apex and all my equipment back up and running as normal. Never having ORP or Salinity monitoring should prove a little more useful. Tomorrow night I’ll get one on my EB8s up and running and put the FW Planted tank back on it for the heater, temp probe and UV. I had a pH probe run on the old brain but now that I have ORP for the reef tank, I’m going to let that run a while. I don’t think pH is too critical for the Planted tank but the heater option sure is nice.

Great thread. Your growth the past few months is insane! What do you attribute that to? Do you dose reef energy a&b? If so what time of the day and how much. I need to learn your sps skills, truly impressive.

Thanks. I dose Reef Energy once a day 6ml of each. No particular time, lights on or off doesn’t seem to really matter. I tried dosing after lights out but I didn’t see any difference.
