Do I still add freshwater for the water that evaporates even if my salinity is in a good level?
Because wouldn’t adding freshwater mess with my salinity?

& yes I know I need a refractometer, it’s on the way.

Add salt water to the water level that you desire

After this replace evaporated water with ro/di water to achieve the same baseline level.

The level will usually fluctuate in the chamber where the return pump is located…

Find a level in your tank that gives you the salinity you want. I keep mine about 3/4" from the top of my rimless tank. Mark it with a small line and as it evaporates you will see it and can top it off with RODI water. It's a pain so I would get a ATO if I were you.

I would wait until you get your refractometer to make changes, that thing is very unreliable IME

I actually just got crayola window/glass markers for this purpose.
