Hello fellow reefers! I want to add a aecond ph probe to my kalk stirrer to make sure it maintains maximum saturation. I have a neptune Apex. I was given a word of warning that adding a second ph probe(replacing the orp probe) had resulted in him not getting an accurate reading from both in separate solutions. Also that both probes had to be calibrated at the same times. Even if only one was drifting. Can anyone tell me from experience if its possible to safely monitor the main tank and also the ph of the kalk stirrer?

You can do it, yes.

This is taken from a post on a different forum.
For the second probe, when you are in the pH menu press down to select "PH2" and then select and enable it (the ORP will disable at the same time so you won't need to worry about that part).

This is from Neptunes site.

To add a second pH probe to your Neptune Apex, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the pH probe: Plug the pH probe into the upper BNC connector on the Apex unit.
  2. Log in to Apex: Access your Apex through Apex Fusion or the Apex Local Dashboard.
  3. Enable the pH probe: Go to the pH configuration page and click on the "Automatic Probe Calibration" button.
  4. Calibrate the pH probe: Use the low range calibration fluid that came with your Apex to calibrate the probe.
  5. Rename the probe: After calibration, rename the probe in the pH setup menu to make it easier to identify.
It's important to note that only one probe can be calibrated at a time, and the ORP probe will disable when a second pH probe is enabled. Ensure that both probes are calibrated at the same time to avoid inaccurate readings.
