My water line is too low. 2” from the top and I would like it 1” or lower.

I was thinking of super gluing a 1” piece of acrylic on each side inside the overflow box.

Good plan just shut down the return pump for a couple hours and let the glue dry?

I have some super glue CA from glue masters. That good to use?

or maybe just wedge two more pieces of acrylic across the inside of overflow so that the 1” pieces can’t go anywhere?

On an old frag tank I used a thin plastic ruler and just wedged it in after cutting the size I needed. Same overflow on mine was a corner drilled. You may still need glue but I would use an epoxy a bit stronger
