Adding an active swimmer to my 32 gal

This is my tank currently. There’s a good amount of rock work and broken lines of sights with tunnels and caves especially in the back

Right now I have 2 clowns, a flasher wrasse, bicolour blenny, and a fire goby.

I want to get 1 more fish preferably on the larger end 3-4 inches when max growth.

the I had in mine and I’m choosing between are —-Azure damsel (though I’m worried about aggression or not)
— orchid dottyback
— royal gramma.


My top pick is the damsel and I’ve heard they aren’t really aggressive to other fish only to same species. And royal gramma is kind of like the fish I’ll settle for but I would much rather the damsel.

Any thoughts ??

grammas can tend to hide, not heard about dottybacks doing that but I have never kept them

All three will protect their territory.
I think the Azure is as good as the other two.
The orchid will hide a lot like gramma.
I only see mine when food drops

Have you heard anything about the Acura being overly aggressive ?

I’ve heard that but I won’t say overly agressive.
All three can be agreesive in some situations to do lack of space.

It’s always about space.

You have 32g and not overstocked.

It might be harder to add anyone else after the Azure though, so make him last. Maybe a Mandarin cause not much bothers them.

My scooter dragonet is very active in my 26G, I see her scooting around the whole tank all day basically

Yeah I don’t plan on getting more. So this will probably be the last fish

I have a grama and an azure (he cycled my tank 4 years ago) I would go azure all day. They never stop and are beautiful imo

not at all, but neither of them are the biggest. problem you will have is only adding one at a time can lead to all of them taking on the 1. you could use a glass/acryllic cage to ease one in

Well yeah none of my other fish are full size yet. So idk what to do. Plus all my other fish are pretty peaceful fish

go slow. like I said a fish box or some other similar separator could help ease them in. same with lots of hiding spots. qt the fish and be sure there is a place to put the fish if anyone stays aggressive. Another thing some people do is move the rocks around and disturb the layout some, it makes everyone have to find a new hiding spot.
