Hi all, I have a fluval 13.5 thats been up nearly a year and it seems to be doing fairly well. I have several different zoas, a duncan, a candy cane thats splitting again also 2 ocellaris and a tailspot blenny. my question is can I add a kupang damsel if not maybe a springer damsel and if they won't work maybe a bangaii cardinal. Thanks ,Tom.

Hi,
Honestly, I don’t think it would be a good idea to add any more fish to your tank. IMO you are probably pushing the limit from the bio load of just a pair of clowns.

Hey, Tommy! I'm in Canandaigua 🙂

Unfortunately, I agree with the other posters here, I think your tank is pretty much maxed out, and I wouldn't add anymore fish.

Consider getting a larger tank, or embracing some of the cooler critters you could keep instead of more fish.

I hope this helps!

The other issue can possibly be the clowns. Was the tailspot added later or at the same time as the clowns? Clown in smaller tanks can be hit n miss. And decided a new tank mate is no bueno. So they will turn to murder. 😬

Well, if you want to get some more fish in your tank, you can always upgrade to a bigger tank, haha

I would say your tank is already overstocked, the tank is too small for the fish you have. If the fish get along then you are lucky. With that said, fish grow and attitudes change, and when your clowns start mating ,they might change their mind about the blenny and you might start to see aggression down the road in 2-3 years time.

And honestly adding a damsel to a small tank like this is a bad idea, they are very territorial and aggressive, more so in small tanks IME.
