Mine took a walk overnight. Never moved for 6 months or so.

From a nice comfy lagoon, to the side of the tank

Best to just leave her alone until she finds a spot?

My gyres are normally set to constant 70%A 50% B. Right now they are 20/20. Should I ramp them up over a day or two, or put them up to working speed now so she doesn’t get a shock in a couple days?

Don’t let it stress you. (Easier said that done, I know)!

If we don’t pursue the awesome creatures we really want, them where is the satisfaction?

I truly love the quote, “ it is better to have tried and failed, than to never have tried at all”. Or something like that.

These nems amaze me, and I know I’m doing the best I can.

So.......to answer your question, put your lights and flow where you want it, and let it find home. That’s what I would do, and I’m going to do nothing about mine that just took a stroll last night.

Well, after a little jaunt around the tank, an encounter with a gyre xf250 at 20% (protective mesh added on Monday, thankfully) and a rapid water rush courtesy of the 850gpm return flow, Nemma has hunkered down in the exact same spot I placed her in a few hours ago.

Other than a few pinched tentacles, she’s looking great.

As of this morning , a Nemma has relocated and currently looks like this

Going yo be honest, I’m concerned but not sure what to do. I’d rather avoid handling her and putting her back in the hole only for her to drift off again. Too stressful.

Gyres are currently at 20/30 percent. Normally run 70/60

Any ideas? Leave her alone even though she isn’t burying her foot? She never did properly attach in QT- she seemed to sit just under the sand surface. I had her in a 4” deep Tupperware full of Fiji pink

@OrionN can you offer any advice for a wandering LTA that doesn’t seem to want to attach.?

LTA does not like a lot of water movement and they like deep sand. Mine does not stop moving until I have 3+ inches of sand. Much lower water movement then Gigantea or Magnifica. I just try to de low current and deep sand.
I don’t have a lot of experience with LTA. Only about 6 anemone-year (2 Anemones 3 years each)

I have areas of sand that are 3-4” deep, but some 2”. Flow was intended for a mixed reef, so top is high, with gyres on the end pointed toward surface middle. But at my intended settings, 70/60%, she just won’t manage. She barely settles even at 20, and I had to turn flow down last night as I was worried she’d get sucked into the gyre like earlier in the day.

The more I watch and think about it, I’m just not sure she’s going to do well in the tank. I’m pretty bummed out.

I wonder if I set up a 10g just for her with 5” sand and minimal flow, I could keep her. Maybe a couple small clowns and a shrimp or something.

Yep- 3 days now, and flow is at 50/40. Will be at 70/60 by end of day.

That’s great news!

If everything else in the tank is doing OK, maybe consider 10% adjustments every couple days on the flow.

Will do. I’ll take time to adjust.

First big invertinthe tank- thecrest is fish and urchins and cuc, which don’t really care so much.

I have some hammers, and duncans in QT, but they are in there a few more weeks

She has it pushed way under the rock. Can’t be certain she has dug down though

thats a good sign, they like to have their foot hidden, hopefully shes digging at the base of the rock to the glass.
are your rocks sitting on the bottom? or up on the sand?

They are up on 2” concrete risers to lift them off the bottom, and to provide a flat base
