Ok so I have a 10g tank with a tidal 35 hob heater and jeaboa sow-4 been running for like a month maybe a bit more cycled with live rock, sand and bottled bacteria one clownfish I want to add another now my question is would it be ok to add another because the tank is still new and I want a nice looking clownfish (not that I don’t like the normal ocelaris) but I can’t spend too much money more so I don’t want to because it’s my first ever saltwater tank 50 dollars what are some non standard clowns I can add ocelaris btw and if I did add I’d use a breeder box but should I also turn off wavemaker my hob does provide enough surface agitation alone for one clownfish at least. Thank you and my bad if it’s a dumb question

It's usually ill advised to add a second clownfish to a tank with an already established clownfish.

However, I have done it successfully. I have also done it unsuccessfully.

For the best chance of success, it would be best to get a smaller clownfish from a group to increase your chances of ending up with a male just in case yours has already transitioned into a female.

Honestly if you want another fish, another clown fish is the only thing I might try. Even then its kind of iffy.

Nothing wrong with just one fish in the tank, I keep only one damsel fish in my 10 gallon. Honestly the tank is too small for more fish, multiple fish won't be happy crammed into such a small tank.

You can add some pretty cool inverts though, to make the tank more interesting!

any of the designers that fall under occy or even perc are fine.

Snowflakes are probably one of the more affordable designers.

I understand but it’s not a cube so it’s a bit longer with more swimming spacr
