Adding smaller Zebrasoma

I have a 4” gem tang in a 6’ 230G and I’m hoping to add a small captive bred yellow tang and MAYBE a small CB purple tang if I can find one.

The gem is peaceful with other tank inhabitants (except his own reflection) including a smaller bristletooth tang.

I’m curious if anyone has had success smaller Zebrasoma to a tank with an existing larger Zebrasoma? I’d use acclimation boxes and the mirror trick if I tried this.

with him being aggressive with his reflection is the hint he will be aggressive with another fish that looks exactly like him

will the mirror trick work? who knows why attack a mirror when he can batta the exactly the same fish thats swimming right next to him

better wording for above what's going to make him attack the mirror instead of the yellow or purple whats so special about the mirror?

I had success adding a small yellow tang to a 125 gallon that already had a larger purple tang. I divided the tank in half with a piece of drop ceiling grid. This allowed the new fish to get comfortable with feeding and a territory while both fish could still see each other. I removed the divider after a couple of weeks. The purple tang does boss & chase the smaller yellow around still six years later, but the smaller fish can escape to caves the larger fish can’t fit into.
